GPS Position Time Series
There are three sources for position data from MOBY: Linux logs (MOBY modem and NTP server)
and ARGOS. The Linux log positions are shown here, the second data set is shown on the
ARGOS e-mail page. We stopped getting GPS positions in the MO3 file when we started getting data from the new controller. The Linux
Logs are ASCII files created by The Falcon Computer which is part of MOBYs Instrument Controll system. During
the day the GPS unit is turned on and a position is taken. The positions are saved in the
gps_modem log file which is transmitted with the other linux logs files.
