Deployment Events
WED 13-JAN-2010 (013) - 20 hour files the EdTop and LuTop have the incorrect int time and
bin factors, also the order of data taking is not correct.
THU 21-JAN-2010 (021) - On the 21 st MOBY went on a walk-about. A boater called Mike on Friday to let
him know were was only one mooring at the site. When I checked the ARGOS
data sure enough the buoy had decided to travel. Mike called Mark and got the ball rolling.

Subject: MOBY on the road again
Hi All,
MOBY broke loose from the mooring sometime on the 21st. It is now around 15 miles west
of the mooring site. Steph has the Argos position updates on the web.
I have contracted Steves (HRA) 60ft research vessel, Pacific Maid http://pacificmaid.com/
,to take us out, find MOBY and tow it back to the mooring.
The earliest we can get out of Honolulu with the necessary equipment is
Sunday morning, I may ask Steve to find MOBY on his way into Honolulu if MOBY
should get into problems before then (like drifting too close shore). Until then,
we will keep an eye on MOBY via Argos (maybe GPS) and prepare for the recovery cruise.

We found MOBY at 16:00 HST it has anchored itself on the south side
of Molokai. The anchor seems to be holding it off the beach.
More to come after we get a close look at things

MOBY is under tow back to the mooring. It looks in good shape
other than the cleanly cut tether. It is getting late here,
so we will recover the floppers tonight and replace the tether tomorrow.

Flippers are recovered (one foot at a time). We are on the way to the mooring for the reconnection.

We are back to the mooring site and waiting for daylight in about 4 hrs. So we are making laps around the mooring. The weather is worse than yesterday. Winds are blowing only 15 knts but are Kona, so and we are exposed to the full force without the islands to provide a lee.
